The excellent media coverage and increasing world-wide exposure for Belize just keeps rolling along. Belize was recently featured in The New York Times Travel Section, National Geographic Magazine, and now will be featured in Nexos Magazine, the inflight magazine for American Airlines.  American Airlines is one of three U.S. based airlines with regularly scheduled flights to Belize from cities in the U.S.  The magazine is targeted towards more affluent travelers, but apparently the editors did a very thorough tour throughout the entire country of Belize.

Belize City, Tuesday, September 25th, 2012Nexos magazine’s editorial director, Ana Christina Reymundo, was in the country from September 13th – September 17th traversing both inland and offshore areas in the country.

American Airlines in flight magazine, Nexos, focuses primarily on an affluent business and casual Hispanic clientele. The magazine is published 6 times a year and has an outreach of over 200,000 people.  Nexos magazine introduces its readers to fun and interesting information that integrates worldwide data, as well as incorporates different aspect of the Latin American culture. The magazine covers travel, business, technology, art, lifestyle and interviews with famous Latin personalities and has won many awards.

The first stop on the itinerary took her inland to tour the mystic Altun Ha Maya temple and explore the location where the legendary Jade head was found. She was taken to the Caves Branch for a fun filled afternoon of zip lining in the jungle followed by cave tubing through the beautiful cave formations. San Pedro, Ambergris Caye was the last stop on her itinerary, where she had the opportunity to enjoy some of Belize’s world class scuba diving, swimming along the barrier reef and viewing of the spectacular underwater wildlife.

Participating private sector who assisted in making this trip a success were  Tropic Air, Radisson Hotel, The Smokey Mermaid, Discovery Expedition Tours, Caves Branch Outpost, The Victoria House and Discovery Expedition.
