My Favorite Time of Year In Belize is Almost Here!

It’s my favourite time of the year again!

No, not because it’s Thanksgiving, or Garifuna Settlement Day, or the start of the Christmas/New Year’s season. It’s my favourite time of the year because the annual “Taste of Belize” will be held in less than two weeks, on December 1st and 2nd.

The annual culinary exhibition featuring some of the best chefs in Belize will be hosted by the San Ignacio Resort Hotel located right in the heart of San Ignacio, in the Cayo District of Belize. (This is a pleasant change, since the event has been held in Belize City since it’s inception.)

This “foodie” paradise began in 2002 to help raise the professionalism and standards of restaurants in Belize, and has grown tremendously over the years to become one of Belize’s most anticipated tourism focused events.

Attendees over the two day event can sample a cornucopia of different Belizean culinary delights as the participating chefs battle it out for the coveted title of “Belize’s Master Chef”.

Another highlight of the event will be the “Grill Master Competition” with amateur Belizean Chefs ‘getting their grill on’ to try and be Belize’s new champion of the charcoal.

Over the course of the weekend champions will also be crowned for Cake Decorating, Bartending, Poultry cooking, Meat cooking and Seafood cooking.

So, fair notice to all “foodies” in Belize to be sure and mark December 1st and 2nd on your calender so you can savor this delicious annual event!
